Progress Report

For this week's challenge, I asked everyone to post a photo of their current self. Some of us have seen some amazing progress in the past few months. (See Bill and Kristen for some very inspiring photos.)

Here's what I looked like when I started all of this in the beginning of March.

And here I am earlier today. I tried to have my husband take a photo, but for some reason he and my camera are having a little disagreement. So please excuse the bathroom mirror shot. (And the birthday balloon in the background.)

I think I've made some significant progress. I'm down 15 pounds and I've ditched my size 16 pants in favor of size 14. My capris in the photo are size 14 - it's been awhile since I wore that size. The shirt is also a large instead of an x-large, and fits quite comfortably.

My plan for the remaining 7 weeks is to lose another 5 pounds, and focus more on strength training to look leaner and firmer. I'm continuing my quest to run a 5k, also. So far I can manage intervals of two minutes, which isn't too bad for someone who has never run before.

Overall, I'm happy with the changes I've made, and I think I can keep them going. And you should see Aaron - he's been dieting and exercising along with me, looking slimmer as well.

I only wish Jillian Michaels was coming to BlogHer this year. I think she'd be so proud to see the changes so many of us have made thanks to the jump-start from her 30 Day Shred.

  1. You look great and it inspires me. I've hit that slump where I can't be bothered to watch what I eat or to work out. I'm gaining back any inches and/or pounds I might have lost, so I've GOT to get going again. Every week I say This Will Be That Week. Still hasn't happened.

  2. you look amazing my girl! I need to post a photo of myself. Even though it seems as if I am not playing along, I truly am. I swear. I am happy that I am feeling much better about myself. I will post photos! Can't wait to see you on Saturday!

  3. You're doing great! Definitely inspiring...

And isn't it, well, I hesitate to use the word "fun" about running, but isn't it a great feeling to know you can run, even if it's "only" for 2 minute intervals? (2 minutes is great) Every time I head out I'm amazed that I'm actually doing any running at all!
